Mortons Neuroma
Hi, thanks for visiting my website, my name is Stuart Rogers and I was diagnosed with Morton’s Neuroma just over a year ago and decided to try and find out as much information as I could and to get some relief from this very painful problem. If you suffer too, then you are aware that it is a common problem associated with pain, swelling or inflammation of a nerve between the third and fourth toes on the ball of the foot.
The normal symptoms of Mortons Neuroma are numbness, cramping and a tingling sensation. In my instance, this occurred on my right foot and I also knew that I’d always put more pressure on my right foot than my left and consequently always built up a a pad of hard skin on the right big toe whereas there was nothing on my left foot. Any normal insoles that I wore inside shoes always wore a hole directly under my right large toe whilst there was insignificant wear on the left insole.
During my research I quickly established that my symptoms were very common and appeared to be the result of the significant pressure I was placing on my right foot whilst walking. I didn’t particularly think that I had a problem with my stance but decided to look at orthotic inserts to see if this would help the problem.
I then found proper and correctly fitting footwear is very important and it is for this reason that many women suffer from Morton’s Neuroma because of wearing high heels.
I also have quite a wide foot and realised that it is important to have footwear with a wide toebox.
I knew that a possible source of relief was to buy an orthotic insert with a metatarsal pad, this is a pad located behind the ball of the foot which helps to unload pressure and thereby relieve pain caused by Mortons Neuroma.
Initially, I decided that rather than going down the road of having specially designed custom inserts I would buy a proprietary product and see if that made any difference.
During my research I came across various comments about the Walkfit Insole System and had also seen their advertisements on the TV so I decided that I would purchase a pair and see how I went on.
I ordered a pair and whilst waiting for them to be delivered I went to a Chiropodist and had all the hard skin on my feet removed and a general service.
The Walkfit Orthotic Insole System comes with three inserts which are interchangeable into the insole itself, so you have a low, medium and high insert option which initially allows you to select one which feels most comfortable. I started with the low insert and put them into a pair of old leather shoes that I know are very comfortable. Initially it felt a little odd to have something hard sitting under your arch and felt unusual when I started to walk. Walkfit do recommend that you only wear them for one hour the first time and then gradually increase the time until you get used to them. I could tell straight away that I was going to feel some benefit because I knew that the pressure on my right toe as I put it down was being distributed differently and that there was not so much pressure on it either. I wore them initially for probably over one hour but during that time I had sat and walked, eventually I was feeling some discomfort under my arch so I took them out. I tried them again the next day and managed to wear them for probably a couple of hours before I started to feel any discomfort. So I just persevered over the next week and wore them more and more each day til I got to the point where I could wear them without any discomfort.
I must say that the effect of these insoles has been nothing short of amazing. I later fitted the medium insert as I felt it would give me more relief and it has certainly done that, I’m so surprised and relieved to find that such a simple solution has had such a major effect, even to the point now that I no longer build up such a pad of hard skin under my right toe so I know that the weight is being distributed differently and certainly more evenly.
If you suffer too and don’t want to go down the line of paying up to $250 for custom orthotic insoles then I would wholly recommend that you try the Walkfit System before you do anything else. I’m sure it’s a decision you’ll never regret.
Not only do you get the two insoles with three different size inserts but you get an adapter for sandals, some peppermint foot lotion which is incredibly cooling when you rub it on to your feet and also a “How to Guide”. In addition, you´ll also get a bottle of all natural “Joint Support Formula” tablets to help relieve pain and discomfort in the joints of your feet and legs and hips, so, all in all, it’s an excellent deal.
